![]() ![]() Then I will try to convey the idea that if you are multiplying two numbers (let's suppose they are integers to make things easier to picture) then a product as $2*3$ would just mean that you have to walk right (in the positive direction) a distance of $2$ (say miles for instance) three times, that is, first you walk $2$ miles, then another $2$ miles and finally another $2$ miles to the right. Is it possible to have all normal blood tests but still end up positive? Is there any way to get a diagnosis if I start eliminating gluten before they run any other test? I hate the way I feel and I would like to jump on an elimination diet, but I don't want to ruin any potential future tests the doctors may (or may not) want to run.Well if I were to explain this in an intuitive way to someone (or at least try), I would like to think of an analogy with walking over the real line, by agreeing that walking left will be walking in the negative direction and walking right in the positive direction. When the doctors thought I had celiac, I was convinced there was no possible way, because in my head, what I saw growing up was what celiac looked like, and that's just not me. He has a pretty severe case, where the tiniest bit would send him to the restroom, violently ill for the rest of the night. My step-dad growing up was celiac (this was back in the 90's-early 2000's where people didn't seem so aware of it, and the gluten free options honestly tasted like cardboard). I don't get nauseous, I haven't lost any weight (I have the opposite problem, sadly), all of my other blood work seems good (basic metabolic, CBC with auto diff, CBC with diff, and my tsh), I don't get diarrhea, and I honestly don't notice anything right after I eat gluten. However, I also don't have a lot of the "typical" celiac symptoms. I also starting realizing I had symptoms I didn't even know were symptoms (again, TMI but apparently floating poops aren't normal- I've had them for as long as I can remember, so just assumed that was the way it was.). I've seen a lot of people say their blood results were negative but had a positive biopsy. While waiting, I've done more "googling", which I know I should probably just wait to talk to the doctors, but my curiosity has the best of me. ![]() The labs they ran were my sed rate, c-reactive protein, tTG IGA, and IGA serum. ![]() They ran the blood tests and I'm waiting for a follow up appointment in 3 weeks. They seem convinced I have an autoimmune disease and seem pretty sure it's celiac. This time I went to a holistic MD who also works along side a (different) naturopathic doctor. All the symptoms have come back, but now I also feel like I have major ADD (can't seem to focus more than 5 minutes), bloating, weight gain, I was getting what felt like heart palpitations (turns out its premature atrial contractions), tingling in my hands and feet, typically that tingling is painful in the mornings especially in my feet, mood swings and (maybe tmi) but also a reduced libido. The last year or so I've gotten back in the routine of not being super careful with what I eat. I took the results, eliminated all of the foods that showed up, and all of my symptoms cleared. ![]() She said she'd never seen so many reactions without gluten or dairy being on the list, and it was clear I had leaky gut syndrome. It came back that I was sensitive to over 40 different foods on the list, but gluten and dairy were fine. She was convinced it was food related and ran a food intolerance test (some doctors don't seem to really believe in these things though). So a few years ago I went to a naturopath because I was dealing with a lot of different symptoms: extreme fatigue, joint pain, major eczema breakouts, hair seemed to be falling out, brain fog, anxiety and feeling kind of down. Hello! First time poster here and trying to figure out the likelihood of a celiac diagnosis. ![]()
